Leonard koscianski is definitely a postmodern artist because he uses many postmodern visual strategies. Some of these streategies are appropriation and hybridity. He has made many postmodern arts using many visual strategies. His artwork senda a message of how the world is, and that is why I enjoy him as a artist in general.

This artwork is very unique and interesting to me. There are definitely many princples and elements in this artwork. Two elements that is see are form and shape. The shapes are squares and triangles, and it is 3-dimensional. Two principles that I see are variety and unity. There is a variety of different styles and colors, and there is unity with the way the shapes come together to form one image. This artwork is very simple, nice, and interesting.

I chose this artwork because it caught my eye automatically. The duck on the motorcyle amused me a little. This is a stereotype artwork. Because stereotyping has to do with judging based of your opinion of one thing, the artist who made thi artwork probably thought of motorcycle drivers as little chickens who think that they are tough. In conclusion, this artwork is definitely a stereotype work, and it immediately caught my attention.

I think that the artwork shows that someone has a problem with this man. They show their feelings by drawing what they really think or feel that the man look like in their eyes. Two postmodern visual strategies are Layering and hybridity.

The first quarter in art was a very interesting one. Me being a freshmen, I was really getting the hang of things. Since My elementary school didn't really focus on art, this was really a new experience for me. I instantly got the hang of things because my peers and teacher was very helpful. The artwork that we did were very fun, and I enjoyed myself the whole time. I got a B by then end of the first quarter which is not bad at all. I believe that what kept me from gettig an A was my effort.

Elements and Principles book[Post #7]*

I have learned alot from doing this elements and principles book. I learned about the elements and principles of art because of the time that I've had enjoy creating it. When I'm having fun, it's easier for me to comprehend. The enjoyale part of makin this book was gathering your ideas together to create work that shows all of the elements and principles, but also creating something that your own and represents you. The challenging part about this was trying to put all of the elements and principles together to show something that was appealing to me and also to make a poem. What I would do differently next time is definitely be more organized and prepared.

Handmade Book[Post #6]*

I chose this handmade book because it really stood out to me. The color coordination is well put together. The designs and shapes are nice and in an creative order. Color and shape are definitely elements that were in mind when this person created this book.

Abstract Drawing[Post # 5]*

This drawing shows many of the elements and principles. The elements that stick out are color and pattern. There are many different colors and they all follow a pattern. The principles that stck out in this art are unity and movement. The colors and different blocks were all put together to form one. Also, movement is shown because this figure looks like a cyclone.

Bloom's taxanomy for art[Post #3]*

  • Evaluation: My opinion of the mona lisa is that it is a beautiful art that sends a message that is defined in different ways by different people.
  • Synthesis: I would render the subject differently by saying the opposing opinion.
  • Analysis: I think the artist is trying to show a woman with a past and a women that is going through alot.
  • Application: If I could interview the artist, I would ask them about their inspiration behind their artwork.
  • Understanding: The subject was to celebrate a wife who has been through alot, and is celebrated having her new born son.
  • Knowledge: The painting has woman with black attire, pale skin, and long reddish-brown hair. In her backgroung is something like a village.

My thoughts about the reading "Race and Gender"[Post #2]*

I thought that this reading was very crazy. I felt that it was wrong to judge art by the artist. All art should be judged by the quality and the beauty of it.  Low value was being placed on the women and the people of color, and i believe that that is completely wrong. I completely disagree with racism. Everyone has a talent that needs to be shared with the world, and racist and feminist people shoudn't stop them or get in the way of what they can do.

  • How would you feel if you were put in this situation?
  • Do you think that art work should be judge by how the artist is?

My very first art experience:) [Post #1]*

My very first art experience was when I was told to color this sheet that my teacher told me to color. I was really good at coloring inside of the lines. The teacher saw how good I was, and told me to show my class as a demonstration of how they should do that. I was so proud of myself that day. After school, I ran home and told my parents, and they were proud too. That was one of the proudest days of my life.
